BirdLife International

Since 2003, the A. G. Leventis Foundation has supported three key aspects of BirdLife International’s crucial work. It continues to sponsor a ‘Leventis Fellow in Conservation Biology’ within Bird-Life International - a post that ensures a link between the academic research done at European and British universities, and its application in the practical field of conservation. The Foundation also contributes to the broader Birdlife International Africa Programme, and its aims of preventing the extinction of threatened species, safeguarding habitats, raising environmental awareness, and linking conservation with sustainable - and profitable – development for the rural populations involved. Finally, the Foundation also makes an annual contribution to the production of Birdlife- The Magazine (formerly World Birdwatch Magazine) a quarterly periodical with a readership of around 15,000 that has won awards for its inspiring and educational content.
