Hellenic Ornithological Society (H.O.S.)

The Hellenic Ornithological Society, founded in 1982, is a non-governmental conservation organization for the protection of wild birds and their habitats in Greece. Its mission is to ensure a sustainable natural environment for birds and people. Since 2011, the Foundation has funded two major projects: “Urgent Actions to Prevent the Extinction of the Egyptian Vulture in Greece & Bulgaria” and “Aegean Survey and Conservation of Greek Seabirds” {phases III and IV). The focus of these projects was the conservation and sustainable management of marine eco-systems in the Aegean Sea. The Foundation’s sponsorship also ensures that the projects qualify for additional European Union funding under the “Life/Nature” Programme.

Grants given:

2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020
