Aiding programmes for the promotion of Hellenic studies, implemented by scientific and educational organisations is an ongoing consolidated practice of the Foundation.

The University of Cyprus is assisted on an ongoing basis and in various ways as to its research programmes and its building and educational infrastructure.

Other institutions financed, in order to organise conferences, symposia, and keep university chairs of Hellenic studies are, the “Society for the Promotion of Hellenic Studies” in London, the Universities of Oxford, Edinburgh, Bristol, and Dublin.

Furthermore, the Foundation was the main sponsor of the “Hellenic Centre”, a modern building in London, that take place various cultural events bringing the Greek and Cypriot community into continuous contact with the population of the British capital as a whole.

The Foundation has also supported educational programmes for children, such as those promoted by the Greek Museum of Children’s Art and aims at bringing children into close contact with art in order to understand it, obtain artistic and aesthetic knowledge and develop their creativity. Another other programme is implemented by the Museum of Byzantine Culture in Thessaloniki and involves informing primary school children of details regarding daily life in early Christian times.

The International Olympic Academy in Olympia has received the Foundation’s support for its library equipment.

The A.G. Leventis Foundation in collaboration with significant educational Institutions has established scholarships referring to post-graduate students in a variety of scientific fields, such as the BSC studies in the American Farm School in Thessaloniki, a Classical Greek Studies post graduate course in Merton College of the Oxford University (“Leventis Scholarship”), a post graduate scholarship in the Department of History & Archaeology in the Aristoteleion University of Thessaloniki (“Ioulia Vokotopoulou Scholarship”), the MBA post graduate scholarship in ALBA Graduate Business School in Athens and in collaboration with the Hellenic Society for the Conservation of the Environment  and Cultural Heritage a post graduate  course in the field of architecture in York University (“Conservation Studies”).

The A.G. Leventis Foundation has also shown its commitment towards education by promoting and assisting research as well as other educational activities such as educational travels, publications, excavations etc.  In the field of research the A.G. Leventis Foundation has among other significant programmes assisted the Nuclear & Particle Section of the Department of Physics of the National and Kapodistrian University of   Athens in purchasing of the “CΑSTOR” calorimeter.

In cooperation with the Lambrakis Foundation, the Evgenidis Foundation, the J.F. Kostopoulos Foundation, the National Bank of Greece Cultural Foundation, the Bodossaki Foundation, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Alexandros S. Onassis Foundation, has created and developed the “Educational and Developmental Initiative” (Protovoulia) a programme which aims into linking the secondary school orientation and professional selection.

The Foundation has also aided the reconstruction of the old headquarters building of the former military camp in Kalamata, in which the Faculty of Humanities and Culture Studies of the University of Peloponnesus are housed.

          The A.G. Leventis Foundation lays great esteem towards Culture by promoting and supporting important cultural activities and programs. The Foundation is a regular contributor of the “Oxford Philomusica Orchestra” programme, has supported the creation of the “Orchestra & Chorus of Youth” implemented by the Corfu Chorus, has contributed in the creation of the “Actor’s Home” a project undertaken by the Hellenic Actors’ Association etc.                                    

            An important educational activity of the Foundation is the supervision and operation of four agricultural faculties established by the Foundation itself in Nigeria and Ghana. Their curriculum aims at teaching young people how to plan and manage technically correct and economically viable farming enterprises. Teaching, accommodation and board is provided to all students free of charge. Graduates are financed to purchase basic tools and a small allowance is granted to them until they obtain their first income, and are able to start their own farming business. More than 1,800 young farmers have attended the Foundation's agricultural schools that are acknowledged both internationally and by the state, and have received assistance from the International Fund for Agricultural Development, the “Pro Natura” International and the National Agricultural Research Project of the Nigerian government.
