Ashmolean Museum, Oxford

The Ashmolean Museum is widely regarded as one of the most important museums of art and archaeology in the UK and hosts an internationally acclaimed collection of Cypriot artifacts. Since sponsoring the installation of the A. G Leventis Gallery of Ancient Cyprus which was inaugurated in 2009, the Foundation has been supporting the post of Curator for the collection. As well as facilitating the installation, maintenance, and digitization of the collection, the Foundation’s grant also contributed to the recent success of the Ashmolean’s extraordinary exhibition ’Heracles to Alexander the Great’, described by Dr Angeliki Kottaridi as ‘the most important Greek cultural event in many years’.
