Greek Manuscripts Digitisation Project, British Library, London

The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom and a world-leading research library. Its collections include more than 150 million items from every age of human civilisation and every aspect of thought from the past two millennia. The Library’s core purpose is to make our intellectual heritage accessible to everyone, for research, inspiration and enjoyment. The A. G. Leventis Foundation supplied a grant towards the British Library’s Greek Manuscripts Digitisation Project and towards a three-year Curator of Classical and Byzantine Studies post. Through the project, the Library will make its collection of c. 1075 Greek manuscript volumes, which date from the 3rd century BC to 1600 AD, freely accessible online for researchers and the general public worldwide. The curator will manage the project, help to promote the collection to researchers and support their enquiries, and interpret it for the public.
