Postdoctoral Fellowship, King’s College London

With the support of the A. G. Leventis Foundation, the Department of Classics at King’s College London has established a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship to study the literary and cultural contribution of the Greek Cypriot poet, novelist and painter Niki Marangou. Dr Polina Tambakaki has been appointed to the post, running a twoyear project which commemorates the life and work of the inspirational Cypriot poet, novelist, painter and bookshop-owner Niki Marangou, who died in 2013. The first year of the project is devoted to the organisation of a one-day conference to be held at the British School at Athens on 23 September 2017, titled Cyprus, female voice and memory: Literature, arts and history in the work of Niki Marangou. It will be addressed by academic speakers based in Cyprus, Greece, the UK and USA. The project has been made possible thanks to the initiative by Constantis Candounas and will be a contribution to the study of Cypriot letters.
