Cyprus Forest Association – The A. G. Leventis Troodos Botanic Garden

Named after the Foundation, the A. G. Leventis Troodos Botanic Garden was created by the Department of Forests of the Republic of Cyprus and the Cyprus Forest Association in 2004. The Foundation has funded the garden’s operating expenses since 2010. Located within the Troodos National Forest Park, on the site of the former Amiantos asbestos mine along the Karvounas–Troodos road at an altitude of 1,400 metres, the garden lies within the Natura 2000 network of protected areas in Cyprus and is a member of Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI). It houses dozens of endangered endemic and native plant species from Cyprus, particularly from the wider Troodos region, alongside selected non-native cultivated and ornamental plants.
