Cyprus Forest Association – The A. G. Leventis Troodos Botanic Garden

Named after the Foundation, the A. G. Leventis Troodos Botanic Garden was created by the Department of Forests of the Republic of Cyprus and the Cyprus Forest Association in 2004, with the Foundation’s contribution exceeding €350,000. The Foundation has been funding the garden’s operation expenses since 2010. Located in the Troodos National Forest Park and lying within the boundaries of the old Amiantos asbestos mine by the site of the Karvounas-Troodos road at an altitude of 1400 m, the area is included in the Natura 2000 network of protected areas of Cyprus, while the garden is a member of the Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI). It includes dozens of endangered endemic and native plants of Cyprus, particularly of the wider Troodos region, as well as selected non-native cultivated and ornamental plants
