Sophocles Hadjisavvas – Tombs of the Kings Excavations and Publication

Following the proposal of Sophocles Hadjisavvas, the former director of the Department of Antiquities of the Republic of Cyprus, the Foundation provided funding for excavations at the site of the Tombs of the Kings in Paphos, in which the Polish Archaeological Mission in Paphos also participated. In parallel, expenses were covered by the Foundation for the preparation of the first and second volumes of the final publication of the excavations, with the first volume published in 2025 under the title Tombs of the Kings: The Ptolemaic Necropolis of Pafos,volume I: Excavation Seasons, 1977-1981 by Sophocles Hadjisavvas, with contributions by Aleksandra Brzozowska-Jawornicka of the Polish Archaeological Mission
