European Museum Academy (EMA)  Annual Conference & Awards, 25-27 September

The European Museum Academy (EMA), supported by the A. G. Leventis Foundation, meets every year for the Annual Conference & Awards ceremony in its mission to bring together museum professionals from across the world. This year’s ceremony was co-organized by the Hungarian Money Museum and Visitor Center, in Budapest, Hungary.

The winners for this year’s EMA awards were: 

-The Heritage in Motion Award: Hands Deep – A Journey Into Demoscene (FI) project

-The Art Museum Award, supported by the A. G. Leventis Foundation, which focuses on the social role of European art museums and rewards projects that place art in a new, innovative context: The Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) in Dublin, Ireland

-The Luigi Micheletti Award, supported by the Luigi Micheletti Foundation, which recognizes innovative museums in contemporary history, industry and science :  Obersalzberg Documentation Center (Berchtesgaden, DE) 

-The Dasa Award, supported by the DASA Foundation, which recognises educational programmes and exhibitions in museums, encompassing broader learning opportunites: Salon Stolz (Graz, AT) 

-The EMA Audience Award, established in 2024 with the support of the A. G. Leventis Foundation, in memory of EMA’s founder Wim van der Weiden: House of Music Hungary
