A major exhibition exploring the artists who revolutionised modern art in Nigeria in the mid-20th century is hosted at Tate Modern from 8 October 2025 to 10 May 2026. Nigerian Modernism, set against the backdrop of cultural and artistic rebellion, celebrates the achievements of Nigerian artists working before and after the decade of national independence from British colonial rule in 1960.
